Cardiff City winger Craig Noone has admitted that he is frustrated that his chance to feature in the Premier League has not yet come.
The 25-year-old was instrumental in the Welsh club s promotion-winning campaign last season, scoring seven goals in 32 appearances after joining from Brighton.
He has watched on from the bench in three of the side s opening five league fixtures, including a shock 3-2 victory over 2011-12 champions Manchester City at the end of August.
But he was given the opportunity to impress in the League Cup, which he took with a fine goal in a 3-2 loss to West Ham on Tuesday, and he will continue to work hard for his Premier League chance.
It s a bit frustrating that I haven t played Premier League football yet, but it s also acceptable when you consider the rise I have made from non-league to where I am playing today, he told WalesOnline.
I waited five years, maybe more, to be a Football League professional and I think I can wait a little more for my chance with Cardiff at the top level.
I’ve always wanted to be a Premier League footballer.
It s close, but there is more work to be done.
I scored a good goal at West Ham, but it s not about that.
Now I have to keep working in training and make sure I am ready when my chance comes.
The Welsh side will hope to clinch just their second win of the Premier League campaign when they come up against Fulham on Saturday.
